Common core is always a popular topic to talk about in election cycles, even more so now that it is being debated in Congress. My view on the topic is that each class should be taught according to what the teachers think their learning style is. We shouldn't have to make some complicated procedure to add 2+2 that every child has to follow. But at that same token, we must require that states teach accurately. We cannot allow states to pick and choose what they think kids should know. If a state, for instance, wants to teach kids abstinence then they can do that and should do that, but at the same time they must teach safe sex practices so we can fight the epidemic of STD's in this country and fight unwanted teen pregnancies. Should we repeal common core, probably, but not until we have something good to replace it with.
