The following message was distributed to media outlets today.
Effective today, we are discontinuing the Parker 2020 Presidential campaign. While our internal polling did show we were reaching nontraditional Republican groups, we simply weren't able to make sufficient headway to justify continuing the campaign.
For my part, I am entering negotiations to buy the Knoxville Journal off the Hamby estate and will try my hand at newspaper ownership after this term is out, all else being equal. For now, though, I will continue the work here in Washington with President Fitzgerald.
As to the Republican primary, I fully intend to participate and vote and encourage all the People for Parker to look at the available candidates and do the same. I have been asked to endorse a candidate, but am not sure whether this would violate any ethics guidelines so for now I will just say I am fully intent on voting.
May God bless you and yours, and this great Country too.
