Anthony Granata, the senior senator from Florida, has offered a bill that would effectively ban abortions preformed at 20 weeks or later. The bill is entitled “The Physical Pain Prevention In The Unborn Act,” and Granata says that because of scientific research proving that a fetus at 20 weeks can feel pain, he introduced the bill to the senate yesterday morning.
“I’ve always been very pro-life, and with these findings it would be hypocritical of me not to introduce legislation addressing the issue.”
Granata says he knows the issue of abortion is a highly controversial, but he believes the conservative senate majority will support it. He also claims it’s time to move forward with social issues.
“There’s no better time to fight for conservative values than when you have a fillibuster proof majority in the senate. We are at a pivitol moment in our history and it’s time for conservatives to make their mark.”
Florida’s Senior GOP Senator said he’s looking forward to this discussion.
