DNC Position on 3 House Bills

DNC Chair Evelyn Vanderfleet discusses current house bills and the Democrats' stance on those bills.

Quote

For the Border Security and Immigration Reform Act, we insist that the Democratic members vote "Yay".  Our biggest objection to the bill was the wall.  Since that is no longer in the bill, we believe the merits of the bill are advantageous to the improvement of immigration in our country.  It is not a perfect, but it is as good as we can bargain at this time.  Thus, the DNC supports the Border Security and Immigration Reform Act.

For the Revenue Neutral Corporate Tax Reduction Act, we urge Democratic members to vote "Nay."   The idea behind corporate tax cuts have proven in previous administrations and throughout history to be counter-productive of a thriving economy.  Instead of using the tax reduction to hire more workers, increase wages, or expand, most corporations use the extra money after taxes to purchase more stock and distribute even larger dividends to share holders. ** President Dwight D. Eisenhower's corporate tax rate was 90%.  This made it so that businesses would invest excess money into their companies by expanding, paying workers better wages, and hiring more employees instead of paying their excess money to the government via taxes.  Let me be clear; we do not propose ever going back to that extreme level of taxation on corporations; however, reducing the corporate tax rate is the wrong way to go.  Thus, the DNC does not support this bill.

For the Naloxone Accessibility Act, we believe this is a clear "Yay" vote. This bill shows collaborative effort from both Republicans and Democrats to solve a common evil.  I do not have much in similarity to Speaker Faulhammer; however, we can agree that this is a problem needing solving.  Both sides contributed to enhance this bill sponsored by Speaker Faulhammer.   We would be disheartened to find anyone not supporting this bill.

We hope this provides clarity on the DNC's stance on the current issues in the house.  Thank you and God Bless the United States.

SJWs and Globalists are somewhat disappointed at what they see as a capitulation to the GOP on immigration, but moderates accept the deal as the best Democrats can do while out of power.
