Eugene Go was born on June 12th, 1968 to a family of Korean immigrants in Los Angeles, California. Although growing up in Los Angeles for most of his childhood, Eugene moved to Dallas to attend the University of Texas at Dallas in 1986 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Go temporarily left school to enlist in the United States Army, serving as a tank gunner in the 24th Infantry Division during the Persian Gulf War. After the war, he returned to UT Dallas to finish his degree and graduated in 1992. He moved to Frisco with his wife, Heather Song and opened a bakery where it is still operated by his wife and his adult son, Jerry Go. In 2006, he made an unsuccessful run for City Council but ran a successful campaign for Congress in 2014. He served as the Representative from Texas's 3rd Congressional District for four years before resigning to run for Texas Senate Class I, defeating Beto O'Rourke in the general election.
