Character Name: Gabriel Du Santiago Home State: Massachusetts Previous Job: Law (Lawyer, Judge, Law Enforcement, etc) Date of Birth: 02/24/1984 Race / Ethnicity: Other (please state in Bio section below) Religion: Catholic Wealth: Middle Class Gender: Male Sexuality: Heterosexual Are you married?: Yes How many children do you have?: 1 Gabriel Du Santiago was born to Mario and Sofia Du Santiago in Boston, MA on February 24th 1984. As the child of immigrants his upbringing was different to many of those around him, he was often the only child of Latin American descent in the neighbourhoods they lived in and being raised in a Brazilian family that spoke Portuguese instantly set him apart from so many. Luckily, his childhood was a happy one. He excelled in school and attended University of Massachusetts where he was pre-law. After graduation he attended Harvard Law School where he received his J.D. In 2008 and fresh out of law school he joined the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office as an Assistant DA. He took quickly to prosecution and racked up an impressive record in his first three years, something that he always takes pride in. During his final year at law school and into 2008 he supported and campaigned heavily for Barrack Obama. He continued his career in the DA’s office and in 2011 he was made head of a drug’s task force. After President Obama’s re-election in 2012 he was offered a position in the White House as Deputy White House Counsel. He stayed in post until 2014 where he made the decision to run for Suffolk County District Attorney. Despite his youth he was elected. As District Attorney he focused his office on tackling organised crime, drug crime and knife crime. He was also becoming increasingly well-known in the Massachusetts Democratic Party and tipped as a future Congressional candidate. In the 2016 Presidential Election he openly suggested Elizabeth Warren consider a run, during the primaries he supported Bernie Sanders and later campaigned for Hillary Clinton. Between 2016 and 2018 he continued his work as District Attorney but set his sights for Congress. In 2017 he announced his intention to challenge Mike Capuano in the primary election for the Massachusetts 7th District. After a tough campaign where he was routinely placed just out of distance, he was able to fight to win the primary fight by 5% over his opponent. In 2018 he was elected in the General Election, and since election he has been championing education and healthcare. View full character
