Senator Michael Madison (R-IN) spoke to Indiana Public Radio about the new budget, which the US Senate just passed. Here are his remarks.
“This budget is a fantastic one. We are reducing the deficit, fixing our roads, and keeping our seniors safe with Social Security. We are keeping our promises and showing the people that President Vang and congressional Republicans care about the deficit. We aren’t blowing out spending like irresponsible politicians would. We are keeping our future in mind and reducing the deficit. Not only that, but we are keeping our highways solvent and funded as well, because President Vang knows the importance of good infrastructure. We are coupling this with great tax reform making its way through Congress right now. Our great middle class needs relief from government taxation, and that’s what we are going to do with the America First Tax Reform Act. This, along with our budget, shows how committed we are to responsible government for the American people.”
