  1. Senator Xavier Correra (D-CA) Response to President Fitzgerald Executive Order to deploy National Guard to the United States-Mexico Border Los Angeles, CA - Senator Xavier Correra (D-CA) has issued the below statement regarding President Fitzgerald's Executive Order to deploy the U.S. National Guard to the United States-Mexico Border "I am simply disgusted and outraged at President Fitzgerald's decision to implement an Executive Order to deploy the United States National Guard to the United States-Mexico border in California. I am just getting this news due to me being on a Congressional Delegation visit to The Gambia and did not have access to the internet or phone due to the part of country I was in. This is a disgrace and pitiful decision by President Fitzgerald. This in no way unites the country, despite him saying his top priority was to "unite the country". Words are not enough to voice the anger of our state leaders, federal representatives and most of all, the good people of California. The American people chose Donald Trump to serve as President, not Mr. Fitzgerald and I truly believe that this is a decision that not even the late President Trump would have made. A new poll came out late last week saying that 43% of registered voters in my state of California want to vote on a referendum for California to leave the United States and 44% saying they don't. Those are very scary numbers. I am not in support of a CalExit movement, nor will I ever. Being apart of the United States of America is a privilege many in this world wish they had. Those numbers I presented are the result of a mentally unstable, deranged and bigoted President making tyrannical decisions to essentially send in the United States Military. We can all agree we need increased border security, but President Fitzgerald has gone too far this time. I will be discussing with members of the California House Delegation to present articles of impeachment against President Fitzgerald. At this time, I am calling on President Fitzgerald to immediately rescind his Executive Order or resign as President of the United States. He is presenting himself to be a complete disgrace and failure to our amazing country."
  2. Senator Xavier Correra (D-CA) is calling on President Fitzgerald and Senate Republicans to work in Bipartisan effort to select next Supreme Court Justice Washington, D.C. - Senator Xavier Correra (D-CA) has issued the below statement regarding the selection of the next United States Supreme Court Justice "Tonight, I have read reporting by The Hill that our respected Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, Anthony Kennedy, will be retiring from the bench. Justice Kennedy is one of the most respected Supreme Court Justices, not just in the modern day, but throughout history. Personally, Associate Justice Kennedy has been my favorite Supreme Court Justice. With the news of his retirement at the end of the week, I am calling on President Fitzgerald and Senate Republicans to work in a Bipartisan manner with Senate Democrats to select a new, highly qualified, objective justice to the Supreme Court of the United States. The judicial branch is the shining city on a hill of our system of checks and balances and a branch that is suppose to remain independent no matter what party is in power; therefore, it is the responsibility of President Fitzgerald and Senate Republicans to work alongside Senate Democrats in choosing who will be the next justice to our great countries Supreme Court."
  3. Senator Xavier Correra (D-CA) on being elected as Chairman of the DNC Washington, D.C. - Senator Xavier Correra (D-CA) has issued the below statement regarding his election to serve as Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. "It is an honor to be selected by my colleagues in the Senate's Democratic Caucus for me to serve as their party Chair at the Democratic National Committee. I will do everything in my power to ensure that the Democrats win upcoming special elections, win back control of Congress in 2018 and in 2020, secure the White House once again. Thank you to my fellow Democratic Senators for selecting me to lead the party."
